THINKING INSIDE THE BOX - article in the Hindu

Manveen Kaur, Sarthak Mohanty, and Nishant Nayak got together to create Hobby in a Box, a do-it-yourself (DIY) e-store that provides and presents all the hobby supplies in the required quantity and with easy pictorial instructions as a hobby kit.

“There’s no need to look for supplies everywhere or spend a fortune on hobby classes when you can learn and make these crafts in the comfort of your home,” says Nishant.

“We research the ongoing trends in hobbies, be it kids craft or home décor. Also, since we experiment so much, we devise easy to understand and relevant instructions to guide our customers through the process,” Sarthak explains.

“If you truly believe in your idea, you will do it no matter how difficult or impossible it is,” Manveen finds.

The NPCeSUMMIT took place on the 18th of July, 2014 at E2CC, Salt Lake City, Kolkata It was a huge hit with about 1200 plus students registrating and attending the summit. It aimed to create an opportunity for students to listen, participate and actively engage themselves with the iconic people and thought leaders of the industry.

In the Business Plan Competition the runners up were from XLRI Institute with their project being Hobby in a Box.
